MoffatHeatheryhaugh Lodges are located minutes away from the quiet, picturesque town of Moffat which is ideally situated for exploring much of Scotland. One hour drive from Glasgow or Edinburgh and 45 minutes from Carlisle to the south, it provides an excellent base for visitors to experience the beautiful landscape of the South of Scotland. The south of Scotland also contains many historical attractions, such as Drumlanrig Castle and the town of Dumfries, where Robert Burns once resided. The area has an extensive collection of Museums and National Trust Properties.

 

MoffatLocated close to Moffat is the Devil's Beeftub,a dramatic land form used by the Border Reivers to hold cattle. For walkers and climbers, Dumfries and Galloway has many easy rambles, including the Southern Upland way, Criffel, Hartfell and the White Coomb. There are also walks along the posted bridle paths of Moffat. Moffat is also close to the spectacular Grey Mare's Tail, one of Scotland's highest waterfalls. There are also pleasant shorter strolls around the Moffat countryside.

The area is home to many golf courses; those close to Moffat include Dumfries, Powfoot, Southerness, Lockerbie and Lochmaben, as well as Moffat's 18 hole course.

Sailing, horse-riding, swimming and parks are also located throughout the region for an activity-packed holiday.
